I'm glad I found this place -- I was thinking about applying to Franklin College (possibly attending next fall). What got me interested was the college's international relations program, which is my intended major. However, I don't know much about the city/region, and I'm also very curious about its languages programs. So, ladies and gents, please enlighten me with your knowledge and advice!
Many thanks in advance.
Franklin is located in Lugano, Switzerland (www.lugano.ch), which is the major city in the Canton (state). Because we are right next to the border, many students take trips often into Italy. We are at the foot of the Alps, and it is very beautiful. Lugano is known for it's amount of sunny days, though we are coming into our rainy winter now. Today, however, is a glorious day.
Franklin offers Italian (the language spoken in Lugano), German, French, English, and Spainish (no introductory Spainish, however, but that may be changing).
What are you wanting to get out of the college experience? Franklin appeals to certain kinds of students. In what are you planning on majoring?
